Six launched pilots in collaboration with the city of Detroit and public and private partners
In a nutshell
Led research for a 12-week innovation sprint with the City of Detroit and public-private stakeholders, generating over 100 potential solutions and culminating in six pilot projects addressing key mobility challenges.
What we did
Deeply Understanding Detroiters' Needs: We immersed ourselves in the lives of Detroit residents and visitors through in-depth interviews and quantitative surveys, uncovering their everyday mobility challenges and aspirations.
Co-Creating Solutions with the Community: We partnered with city residents in co-design workshops and facilitated broader ideation sessions, ensuring that diverse perspectives shaped potential solutions.
Driving Innovation Through Collaboration: Working within Project Kinetic, a collaborative initiative of Detroit's Office of Mobility Innovation (OMI), we joined forces with public, private, and philanthropic partners to generate over 100 innovative mobility solutions.
From Ideas to Action: Rapid Piloting: From a wealth of community-driven ideas, we prioritized and launched six pilot programs in 2018, aiming to deliver tangible improvements to Detroit's transportation landscape within 12 months.
Focusing on putting people first: The five pilot programs under Project Kinetic and lead by the Office of Mobility Innovation (OMI) are focused on developing easier, safer, and more affordable mobility in Detroit.
